Here are our events for May

May 5-6 Pet companion fair at the expo center from 10-6pm. We will have a booth and be happy to answer any questions you may have, so please stop by and say hi.

may 20th N. Clackamas romp 1pm at clackamas park. Check our facebook page for more details.

May 26th Beach trip. This will be the first trip to the beach this year, we will meet at the Dairy Queen in banks just off the 26 at 10am. For more details please log onto our facebook page and check out our events.

5:00pm until 6:00pm

We will be meeting in the US Bank room on the first floor of the library. Please ask for assistance from a library staff member or volunteer if you have trouble finding the room. Any questions please contact James at (503) 953-0249. This will be a very important board meeting so please plan on attending.

We have some great things coming up in November. We know the weather is turning and it gets harder and harder to get out with our big kids so here are some great things to do with them.

Nov. 6th at 1pm we have our romp at Ross park. Even with the rain this park doesn’t get very muddy so it’s a great place to go.

Nov. 12th at 10am we are going to try somewhere new and meet up at Hondo park.

Nov. 14th at 5pm we will be having our quarterly meeting at Blue moon. This will be a no dog event but a great way to get your voice heard about the groups future or just learn more about us.

Nov. 20th at 1pm we will be moving the romp indoors. N. Clackamas is not very winter friendly so instead we will be hosting our romp at Fido’s indoor dog park instead. This is a great indoor park and will be only $5 to attend the romp instead of the normal $10. If you have never been to Fido’s please make sure to go to their website and pre-register with your shot records. http://fidos.squarespace.com/forms/

Nov. 26th at 10am we will meet at 39th and Hawthorne to walk the streets. This is always great fun and provides us the opportunity to educate the general public about the breed while working on leash manners. It’s also a great way to end a fun filled month.

Whew! This summer has been full of excitement, success, changes and slobber.  Thank you so much for coming out to every event, supporting our mission, and loving the dogs.  We couldn’t do this without YOU!

This weekend has a lot of opportunities to support great causes, get educated, and wear out the pups!

We are celebrating responsible pet ownership with many vendors and rescue groups!  Come visit Clayton and Christine at the PDX Danes Booth anytime between 12:00pm - 4:00pm.  Petco will have prizes and give-a-ways for all who come!

Sunday, September 18 · 2nd Annual Dog Day with Guide Dogs for the Blind

This is such a great event and worthy cause!  PDX Danes will not be attending this as a group sanctioned event this year but we encourage all Danes to attend.   Support Guide Dogs for the Blind, make some new friends, and invite them to the next romp!

Let’s reminisce about GDoS at North Clakamas Dog Park!  To those who have yet to visit this park: It has shade, sun, and a kiddie pool.  Play with Jenny and Fynn from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.

Come out and play with the big dogs this Saturday, August 27th from 10-4pm! Admission is free!

We will have two great speakers and some wonderful raffle prizes.  Food for purchase is available so come hungry.

All proceeds go to Portland Great Dane Community (PDX Danes), allowing us to continue to offer a medical assistance fund to our paid members as well as enhance the off leash areas here in Portland and Provide educational events.

For Members that want a say in our bi-laws please come to this meting. We will be meeting at Barista 539 Northwest 13th Avenue Portland, OR 97209 at 5pm. We will open the meeting by voting to add Clayton Kammer-Mafnas as our Director of Education as well as voting to promote James to VP and add Christine Getman as our new Director of Events. After the vote we will go over the bi-laws and update them for the state. If you would like to help shape this group and are a paid member we would love to see you. We do ask that you leave your danes at home for this meeting. Thank you
